Angling in Skagen

Do you love fishing that is as unpredictable and whimsical as the Danish summer? Then you should try your hand at angling at Skagen

In Skagen you can catch sea trout, which, despite popular opinion, are good to catch on the clean sandy bottom at Skagen. They come to the area in the spring when there is plenty of food, such as sprat and small herring - and this continues throughout the summer. Skagen is also home to many shrimps and crabs, which are a treat for the big, beautiful sea trout.

There is direct access to the beach and sea from our campsite, so you can combine your fishing trip with cosy family camping.

Cod!

Head to the harbour in Skagen and fish for cod. You'll have a great chance of catching this delicious edible fish along the large rocks by the pier, and if the day is in your favour, you can also hook a saithe. You can also fish elsewhere from the shore and get a good catch - there are many opportunities in Skagen!

Remember to fish sustainably and don't take home more fish than you can eat or freeze!

Angling for flatfish

There are many different fish you can catch as an angler in Skagen, and one of the more popular fish for the family dinner table is the flatfish. At Skagen you may have the best luck catching flounder, but you may also be lucky enough to hook a dab, turbot or plaice. If you get a bite, you can bring it back to the campsite where our many modern facilities, such as an outdoor fish cleaning station, allow you to prepare a delicious dinner for the whole family. You can enjoy it in the common areas or in the caravan with the sound of the sea in the background.
